Born and raised in the “City of joy” Calcutta, India where the holy Ganges disappears in the Indian ocean each day, Debasish’s singer-songwriter’s journey started a few years back when he gave up his career in technology and moved from NYC to Hawaii to spend more time with family.
His Indian background, childhood memories of listening to morning raga from broken radios, his disconnected immigrant’s life of the last 20 years continues to subconsciously dominate his music.
Self-taught, Debasish sings in three different languages and writes songs in two.
One of his songs was selected for the International Songwriting Competition (ISC)’s semi final out of 18,000 songs.
He lives on the beautiful Island of Hawaii and continues to discover himself through every guitar strum each day.
